Nostalgia

Nostalgia is a project about returning to a familiar place and discovering that it no longer feels the same. It is about the quiet distance that appears between memory and reality, between the place we remember and the place that exists now.

I am interested in what happens when we try to hold on to something that has already changed. At first there is resistance, disappointment and a desire to find what was once familiar. Over time, this feeling begins to dissolve. What remains is not the place itself, but fragments of memory, a sense of absence, and the realization that we have changed along with it.
